Open Wheel Sessions Program
FUNKē FIRED ARTS Is Proud to Present Our Monthly Open Wheel-Throwing sessions!Get ready to have an AWESOME Friday night... this class is all about having fun and being creative!
The Open Wheel Sessions are one-night programs where we guarantee you'll make at least one pot on the wheel! Group and personal instruction both take place at this event. Bring a friend and let's make some pots!
This is a great way for people interested in working with clay to experience it first hand without the commitment of a six week class. The events are held on the second and fourth Friday of each Month from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Clay, tools, firing, refreshments, and instruction from knowledgeable staff are included.
Plan to arrive around 6 so that you can get settled. Six signups are necessary for the progam to run so get some friends together and make a night of it! If your session will not run for any reason, we will call you the by 1pm the day of the class. Prepayment is required.
The sessions are completely FREE For Studio Members and $30 for any other guest.

FUNKe Functionals
All Ages Welcome
Join us for a fun and functional clay project. Create usable pottery with flair, such as mugs, soap dishes, waste baskets, picture frames, toothbrush holders, and much more. Every Saturday will be different and no reservations are required. You and your kids will love using your own creations everyday.
Times: Every Saturday from 10am to Noon

You will need:
- 3 bisqued pieces, of varying forms, made with a claybody that can fire to cone 10 (Maximum Dimensions for pots: 9”l x 9”w x 9”h + we will have a limited supply of bisqued cylinders available for sale)
- A brown-bag lunch
- A pencil or pen
- A notebook
- OSHA Face Mask Rated for Fine Particles
We will provide:
- Variety of Cone 10 Reduction Glazes
- Raw Materials and other Supplies
- Cone 10 Reduction Firing of your 3 Pieces
- Light Snacks, Juice, and Coffee
We will cover the following hands-on subjects:
- Mixing and Testing Glazes
- Glaze Application Techniques: Including Brushing, Dipping, and Spraying Glazes
- Discussion of Tools used in Glazing: Including the use of Resists
- Discussion of Shapes and Textures
- Loading a Reduction Kiln
